Happy or Bust!

You have to keep on doing the things you know will get you where you're going
even if it feels like nothing is happening
--D. Jackson
One of my family members posted this on Facebook as part of his status and it got me pondering on how often we, individually and as a people, forget where we are going--in life, in love, spiritually, physically, in our pursuit of knowledge, etc. Maybe it is because we cannot see the results of our efforts fast enough or even ever in this life. Perseverance is the key to success in any good endeavor and I am inspired by his words to keep working toward my goals.
Sticking with a weight loss goal or getting past the ugly phase when learning to play an instrument or whatever the challenge is all part of self-improvement, which leads us to higher spheres.  I am reminded of a scripture about fighting the good fight:
2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith

Life can be quite the challenge, but I know the rewards are and will be great for looking past verifiable results and keeping on keeping on, in faith, until we reach where we are going.

  1. hi!
Thanks for your visits to my blog and to my BlogFrog community. I've enjoyed your blog this evening. This post is about a verse which has been sort of a theme for me. I often tell people, "Keep fightin' the fight!" And sometimes it seems like getting through a day, DOES require some "fight" from us, doesn't it? Thanks for the thoughts in this post.
    Blessings!
