ink and chalk

Writing on the wall of life
With an ink-filled fountain pen
Permanently making my mark
Because I have never really liked
The leaded scratchings of pencils

That can easily be erased.

But what about the black and white
Chalkboard that leaves a film of dust?
Each stroke changing the scene
Every erasure never quite entire

Give me paper and pen
And hand me a chalkboard too
To write of things of forever
Within the everyday moments with you.

  1. I like the line "Every erasure never quite entire." Even the white board shows a build up of messages left behind.
