I cannot seem to get this heart
Off my sleeve.
This loving like daisies
Pushing through concrete cracks,
Getting trampled as we grow,
Is nothing I thought our love would be.
When will the sun just shine and we get to soak it all in,
Taking what we know and sharing love without fear.
When will it be safe to let the heart win,
And look on each other with gladness and cheer.
Scrubbing and loving in tandem,
