Seven years in the making, my first published book, This Phoenix Speaks , is now a reality. The tireless and tiring work invested to ma...

Button, Button I {finally} Grabbed The Button

Not to sound ridiculous, but the truth is the truth.

I have seen several blogs with that little red Pinterest follow button and could not--for the life of me--figure out how to grab one to go on my little, purple niche. Well, until now... :)

In all my research into blog development, I have developed quite the vocabulary for fun, cute stuff that only looks like gibberish if you don't paste it into an html friendly zone (said from GREAT amounts of experience). Widgets, buttons, etc. have been part of this high adventure--as you can very well see if you go exploring the page.

Little Things Make Me Happy

If you haven't noticed, I figured out how to add a Stumble Upon badge to my posts!  I know this sounds ridiculous to many of you tech savvy individuals, but you do not even know how long it took for me to comprehend the short paragraph of directions--clicking back and forth back and forth--between the html editing page and the SU directions. It is not exactly how I would like it because I wanted to do the permalink thing, but I just could NOT understand what in the world to do with that stuff!

Talkin' Shop

Ok everybody. I keep on saying that I have links fixed and all that jazz and sometimes they really are NOT, but I think I have it this time. I promise.

Monday and the Mobile Device

If you have been reading this blog for anytime at all, you might have figured out that I am NOT tech-savvy. I get a little nervous when websites come up with some new and improved thing I don't know how to use and ask me to start using it.

Women At Work

If you haven't noticed, the blog is under construction. There are some darling buttons that lead to weird places and some things just don't look quite right...

This is all a tiny sacrifice to make this the awesomest blog in the universe (well, the awesomest about the stuff I write about) so more people will take a look, realize how fun and fab it is, and actually want to join in with all of us.

One of my main concerns is to not make it too ultra girly. After my fancy post, I hope the male readership realizes that I am a girly girl, but I don't want to have it too cutesie and guys to feel weird about having it up on their screen. I think I bring up topics relevant to both sexes.  If you are a guy and are reading this, PLEASE give me some feedback on this. Have you found at least one posting a week somewhat interesting? I adore honesty. It is highly useful.

You also might notice that there is another name up there with the purple lady's. It is my friend Julie who is helping my technically-challenged self to rise to new heights by taking over the aesthetics department for a bit. When it takes you over an hour to figure out a FB like button and you still don't have one on your blog, there are serious problems! I have some of the most fabulous friends a girl could ever hope for.

Thanks Julie for your kindness, patience, and absolute generosity with your time and talents. Everyone on here thanks you too, I am sure.

Lost in a sea of technology

If ever a girl wanted to feel un-super, all she needs to do is try to start a blog.  dude.  I changed some features, played around a bit with some settings, modified the blog address to better fit what I want, and BAM! I got set up for a series of dorky, irritating things.  I felt  like I did when I was in the downtown area of Salt Lake City a few years back and I got lost trying to get to the freeway - I could see the freeway the whole time, but could not get on it. Can we all say "I hate one way streets" all together? Now you might be thinking, she must have some mental processing issues or something.  No. I just go from substance to air at the speed of light when dealing with machinery and I guess that includes computers FOR SURE!
