Gracefully
falling apart
as the hours tick
past like money
going
d
o
w
n
the drain.
Hopefully
picking up the
p i e c e s
faster than
I lose my energy
for doing so.
Perfectly
knowing that
my story is not over.
And it will never be over
even once I find a place
to call home for this heart—
my beautiful, precious,
giving, eternal
heart.

Such a beautiful poem tied with much emotion. The spacing and format add a second level of interest. I truly enjoyed reading it this morning!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Amy. The emotion and the space worked together to make a unique and powerful piece. My heart went out to you as I read it.
ReplyDeleteI too agree with the above comments. The way the words are displayed really added to the emotions and message of this poem. I totally related to this poem.

Ahh, I wanted to help you pick up the pieces. <3 I like the way you used space and shape for meaning. And starting each stanza with an adverb worked helped set the tone.
